LEGEND PICKS CYRUS,
TWO JAYHAWKS IN USBL DRAFT
The Dodge City Legend made Caswell Cyrus,
a 6'-9", 220-pound center from St. Bonaventure their first
pick in the United States Basketball League Draft . The Legend
had the number two pick in the draft after the Oklahoma Storm
picked Oklahoma State guard Doug Gottlieb.

Cyrus was an imposing center for the Bonnies,
who made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 22 years memorable
by losing to Kentucky in double-overtime. Cyrus grabbed 18 rebounds
against the Wildcats. He earned Atlantic-10 All-Conference honors,
averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots per game
as a senior. He is St. Bonaventure's all time leader in blocked
shots.
"Caswell is a tremendous athlete,"
Legend General Manager Tom Nelson said. "He can sprint the
length of the court in three and-a-half seconds, combines a team
best 36 and-a-half-inch vertical jump with a 375-pound bench
press for an outstanding combination of speed, strength and athletic
ability."
The Legend also picked two members of the
Kansas Jayhawks: Nick Bradford in the third round and Ashante
Johnson in the seventh.
